The Cattle and Grain Round Up is a proud local tradition celebrating 30 years of deep-rooted support from farm and ranch families across High River, Nanton, Blackie, and surrounding areas. Since 1996, this unique initiative has brought our agricultural neighbors together to ensure that high-quality healthcare remains strong and accessible right here in our rural communities.
The Living Legacy: What We Support & Why It Matters
For 30 years, the Cattle and Grain Round Up has been a vital lifeline for rural healthcare, raising over $1.1 million to keep advanced medical treatment right here in our community. By transforming hard work from our fields and ranches into cutting-edge medical equipment, this campaign ensures that families in High River, Nanton, Blackie, and surrounding areas don't have to travel to big cities for critical care.
Every donation of cash, cattle, or grain directly upgrades local hospital resources—proving that when our agricultural community comes together, we secure a healthier, safer future for our neighbors, families, and friends.
Where Your Money Goes
The Cattle and Grain Round Up raises an average of $40,000 each year, contributing to over $1.1 million raised since the program's inception.
This Year's Priority: Every donation made to the current Round Up is fully dedicated to purchasing a Rapid Infuser for the High River General Hospital—a critical, life-saving piece of equipment used to rapidly warm and administer blood and fluids to trauma or surgical patients.
Flexible Giving Options: The fund uniquely accommodates the agricultural community by accepting matching tax-deductible donations in the form of cash, cattle (processed through Foothills Auctioneers), or grain (directed through the Cargill Blackie Elevator).
Double Your Impact: Thanks to a generous $10,000 matching pledge from long-time donor Marlyne Sutherland (in honor of her late husband Wilson and the program's founders), all gifts from NEW donors will be completely matched dollar-for-dollar!
