Gratitude, Community, and Celebration: Longview 4-H Beef Club Show & Sale

It was a day to share our thanks and celebrate the heart of community spirit at this year’s Longview 4-H Beef Club Show and Sale!

From the dedication of our 4-H Members, the generosity of buyers, to the inspiring success of the Donation Steer program, the day was a true reflection of hard work, collaboration, and the power of giving back.

Honoring the 4-H Members and Buyers

The Show and Sale began by recognizing the incredible commitment of each 4-H Member, who invested countless hours into caring for and preparing their steers. Their passion for agriculture, learning, and community was evident in every detail.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the buyers who showed up, bid generously, and supported these young leaders in such a meaningful way.

The Donation Steer Challenge

One of the day’s most exciting moments was the success of the Donation Steer program. This year, Leader Ross Lewis set a fun challenge:

“If the members can raise $60,000, I’ll dye my hair any color they choose!”

And they did it! Together, they raised the full amount, ensuring Ross will soon sport a bold new hair color of the kids’ choosing.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our community:

  • Reid Snodgrass and family, and Wade and Jamie Nelson of Highwood Valley Ranch, for donating the steer.

  • Markus Mason and family, for raising “Donny” and preparing him for the sale.

  • The generous donors of the Eastern Slopes Philanthropists group.

  • And the final bidders, Transcend LLP and Foothills Meat Processors—thank you for your outstanding contributions!

Supporting Hometown Healthcare

We’re honored that, once again, the Longview 4-H Beef Club has chosen to support Hometown Healthcare through the Foundation as the Donation Steer partner. Your commitment to local healthcare is deeply appreciated and helps make a lasting impact for families across the community.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

Together, over the past 14 years, the Longview 4-H Beef Club has raised over half a million dollars for local healthcare through the Donation Steer program.

That’s an incredible legacy of generosity, community spirit, and care for one another.

Thank You

To the 4-H Members, families, leaders, donors, and supporters—thank you. We are honored to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together in the years to come.

Let’s continue to make a difference, one steer at a time!
